Something's Got to Change Here

And the message there was folks--Something's got to give!
With things going from busy to frenetic to crazyiness to overwhelming it just reaches the point where it can't possibly go on.

Sometimes you go for years before you reach that point but the whole time you're thinking "This isn't how I want to live", "This isn't how I want to be", "This isn't me at all", "I need to figure this out"

And you confide in your friends and they tell you they don't know how you do it, and you spend a whole day resting in bed after making two turkies for Thanksgiving, and you go to Mass on Sunday and find a little peace from your interaction with God, and then Monday comes along and it starts all over again.

As all this was heating up to the boiling point recently a friend mentioned a book she was reading and my ears perked up. I'm a big reader and read on a variety of subjects, one of them spirituality. The book she mentioned: "The Jesuit Guide to (Almost) Anything", by James Martin.

What did I think of this book? Well, I hate to let the cat out of the bag but I'm giving at least a dozen copies to friends and family as Christmas gifts. If any of what I said resonates with you, then this is the next book you should pick up and read. Trust me.
